The MSc in Business and Data Analytics (Information Analytics Management stream) program aims to cultivate students with professional knowledge of business data analytics through active learning of the theories, methods, supporting techniques across a wide range of knowledge areas such as big data management, data visualization, data mining, applied statistics, social media analytics, and analytics management.
Program Intended Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this Program, students should be able to:
- Describe the theories, methods, and techniques for the management and analysis of complex data structures arising from typical business applications.
- Apply the data analytics theories, methods and techniques to design and build data-driven solutions to enhance business decision-making.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and competence in the key concepts and techniques in different areas of statistics.
- Apply acquired quantitative knowledge to solve business problems and to make decisions.
- Use appropriate statistical or analytics software to investigate and solve practical problems.
Recognition by CPA Australia
CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest professional accounting bodies representing more than 172,000 members working in over 100 countries and regions around the world, with more than 25,000 members working in senior leadership positions. City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) and CPA Australia have signed an agreement granting CPA Program exemption for two courses in the MSc Business Information Systems or MSc Business and Data Analytics programs. Students who complete both IS6200 Blockchain Technology and Business Applications AND IS5313 Foundations of Information and Electronic Business Systems offered by CityUHK (DG) will be exempted from the “Digital Finance” Elective Subject in the CPA Program.
